Our Two Centuries in North Greenwich, Connecticut [ASSOCIATION COPY]
1950. Trade Paperback. Good+. Item #1667
An interesting association copy of the locally published history of the Congregational Church of North Greenwich. This copy is bound in brown textured cardstock with gilt stamped titles that have mostly worn from the cover. The spine is covered in red binder's tape that makes it difficult to establish whether this copy originally included a titled spine. Previously owned by the Close family with their ownership statements written on the end paper and title page. Tipped into the volume is a newspaper article related to the 125th anniversary of the church and Sara Close's history presentation, a four-page manuscript written by Frederick W. Close in 1895 relating names and numbers of church attendance and Sunday school classes, and a broadside from the 1877 100th anniversary of the church and the scheduled exercises. (loc: Shelf).
